Abstract

Indexing has always been important and has become more so with the advent of vast quantities of unstructured information. Collaborative indexing enables the sharing of workloads with various software products making shared indexing easier. Basedex has been written especially to allow the creation of a 'universal' index, while other web-based services enable the creation of 'de facto' indexes.
